12260112501 – Attempt theft of e-bike, Micklegate, York, YO1

On 17th June 2026 at around 8pm to 9:30pm an attempt theft of an e-bike has taken place on Micklegate. 

A member of public secured their e-bike to one of the bicycle racks and on return one of the locks securing the bike had been cut suspected with bolt cutters. 

This message has been sent to advise the community and local businesses within the location to please remain vigilant and if you witness any behaviour such as this ongoing please inform the police on 999, if the incident has already taken place and the suspect/s have left the scene then please use 101 or report online.
